This summer, Blackberry Productions and New Professional Theatre will conduct a series of workshops between members of the NYPD and Harlem Youth. Among skills workshops will explore include intercultural communication, conflict management, conflict rituals, and communication competence. In bringing together these diverse groups, the workshops will facilitate critically needed engagement to improve the physical, psychological and moral health of our community. The workshops will be facilitated by Blackberry Co-Founder Dr. John-Martin Green. Dr. Green won an Obie Award for an arts based crisis intervention program for juvenile offenders. Blackberry Productions has developed countless workshops facilitating community engagement, and extracting authentic narratives from cross-sections of the community and transforming those explorations into theatre reflecting panoramic perspectives of the community.
